An All Around Good Weekend

Hi Guys!

  I didn’t want the afternoon to get away from me without posting a lil somethin’ somethin’ for you to read.  Don’t want’cha worrying if I made it through the weekend alive.  After last weekend with my kiteboarding antics, you never know if I might have been blown away, never to be seen or heard from again. 😉

Rob and I woke up early on Saturday with a mission to hit the mall.  We both needed some essentials.    

A new pair of sneakers was in order for me.  I’m pretty sure the pic below is what I ended up getting.  I’ll double-check when I get home tonight. 

Makeup was also a must.

It felt like we were walking around the mall forever.  The nice thing was that we got there just as it opened and we didn’t have to battle the crowds until we were making our way out.

We made a pit stop for some grub on our way home.  By the time we walked in the door we were both pooped.  Shopping takes a lot out of us old folks, ya know?  We both parked our butts on the couch for about an hour.  I almost fell asleep, but knew that I had to start cleaning the house.  I pulled myself up and got scrubbing.

We had set plans Saturday night to meet a friend of Rob’s and his wife out for dinner.  Sunday was also supposed to be filled with friends.  The group of friends we would be seeing on Sunday were supposed to be congregating at our house; therefore, you know the reason for my compulsion to get up and start cleaning.

I did as much as I could before it was time to get ready and meet up for dinner.  Saturday’s dinner at Honu was wonderful.  Rob and I got there a little early and decided to take a stroll through town.  We then hit the restaurant’s bar for a pre-dinner drink and got a lil silly while waiting for the other couple.  I briefly met Rob’s friend last summer, but had never met his friend’s wife.  We ended up hitting it off and the conversation spilled over into an after dinner walk through town.  I LOVE nights like that! 

Sunday plans were cancelled because of the rain.  I gladly stayed curled up under the covers for longer than usual while finishing my book of the month (The Hunger Games). I couldn’t put this book down!

Then, I made my way to the grocery store, put everything away and joined Rob in a battle against the house.  Well, maybe not the house but the clutter filling the house.  Between the two of us we made a large dent and filled about 5 garbage bags with clothes to be donated to Good Will.  We both felt accomplished and like the house is finally coming into some sort of order after my moving in.  We’re getting there….

The remainder of Sunday was filled with grabbing a quick dinner, phone calls with family, and cuddling up to watch True Blood & Entourage.  After Entourage it was lights out for us.  We both were determined to make it to the gym this morning before work.  I’m happy to report that we both checked the “to do” off our list. 

I have to say, it was an all around good weekend. 🙂 Our schedule might not have gone exactly as planned, but we used our time wisely and accomplished a lot.

Now, I’m just plugging away until the 5 PM whistle.  Can’t wait to go home!
