March Madness

Hey Guys!

When I say “March Madness” I surely don’t mean this kind

While relaxing in Mexico, I knew this was going to be a crazy month.  Little did I know that there were going to be some unexpected things that came our way, like my car accident and the passing of an especially close friend of Rob’s.  I’m still without my car, but I’m hoping to have it back by the end of this week (fingers crossed).  Services for Rob’s friend will be Thursday through Saturday.  He was only 38.  So sad.  😦

Aside from the unexpected, Rob started his new job, I have been in the process of moving into his house, I’ve been dealing with my knee issues and I’ve been sneaking away on interviews.  I feel like I need to duplicate myself.  I’ve literally been traveling between two states on an almost daily basis.

Tuesday night I actually fell asleep sitting upright in a chair.  That’s when you really know someone is tired.  Haha.  😉  I’m just trying to stay positive and remind myself that after tomorrow the move will be over and I will be living in one place for good.  I keep calling myself the bag lady because I am continually between places to put my head down at night.  Almost over!!  I can’t wait!

You know what I’m also excited about?  I got a new job!!  🙂  I went on the interview Friday morning and by the afternoon they had already presented me with an offer.  It’s not just any old job, but one where I actually have an interest in what the company does.  The person I’ll be working for seems great and I’m truly (TRULY) looking forward to start working there.

My last day at my current company is the 7th and I start the new job on the 11th.  After all of the madness I really wanted a short break before starting at the new company, but they need me right away.  I guess a 3-day weekend will have to do for now.

So, that’s my life in a nutshell right now.  I’m sorry I haven’t been able to post lately, but I think you understand where I’m coming from.  Right?  🙂  I think that after this weekend life should be less crazy and I’ll get back to posting consistently.  I still want to show you the rest of my trip to Mexico!  Man, do I wish I was back there right now….Reality it is though!

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Kim

Hola!

Hola Mis Amigos!

I’m back, tan and refreshed from the daily grind.  Oh how I wish I could rewind and spend another week in Mexico!!

I’m sure you can imagine what a week away does to one’s desk at work.  I walked in this morning to my L-shaped desk being covered with various piles of papers.  There wasn’t even a note to explain what everything was.  I kept chipping away at the piles over the course of the day and am pleased with how I left things this afternoon.  I tried to work quickly because I had to rush out early to get to another knee doctor appointment.

Of course, you know they took me late, even though I battled traffic while biting my nails in order to get there on time.  What made me smile was realizing that: #1- The sun was still shining & #2 – There wasn’t a flake of snow to be seen anywhere on the ground.  I smell spring!  Bring it on!!

After speaking with my doctor we decided that I should have a cortisone shot in my knee.  Hopefully, this will turn things around for me; otherwise, I’ll have to go in for an MRI and who knows what that might bring.  😦  It is feeling a bit better now and I hope it continues to progress this way.  The doctor ok’d me for lower body exercise and cardio if I get through this week without any pain.  Fingers crossed!  I am getting antsy not being allowed to workout.

Currently, I’m sitting in Starbuck’s parking lot, sipping a tall nonfat misto.  My landlord is showing my apartment so I had to make myself scarce.  Of course, I forgot to bring my camera with me to show you all how beautiful everything was in Mexico.  I promise to get those pics up for you over the course of the week.  We did a lot of relaxing in the sun, cooling off in the water, taking in the scenery, laughing with each other and even went on an adventure outside of the resort.  All I can say is that I may or may not have been scared to death more than a few times during the adventure.  I’m alive and proud of myself though.  What a way to end my 31st year!

Now, I’m going to make a quick grocery store run because my fridge is practically bare.  I need to keep in mind that I’m moving in a few weeks and should keep my purchases to only the things I absolutely need over this short span of time.  Going to the grocery store for me is like a little kid going to Disney World.  Well, maybe not quite that good, but I do love a good grocery run.  😉

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!

Time To Get Movin’

Hey There,

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, but it is darn COLD here.  Brrrrr!  Even though it looks like this outside

Picture Perfect Blue Sky

I’m stuck inside with this:

Yeah, I guess it’s about time to get started with my packing, wouldn’t ya say?  I’m going to run out of boxes, but I at least want to get what I have filled so that I can take them with me to Long Island tomorrow.  By mid March I’d like to only have furniture in the apartment.

This has made me realized that I have so many books!  I started with this bookcase this morning.

I filled an entire box and still have this much left!  I also have a second bookcase in the same room and a smaller one in my bedroom.

BTW, Kelly, if you’re reading, these are the Nora Roberts books I was telling you about:

The Quartet Series

I don’t even want to venture into the office right now.  😦  There are so many books shoved in a cabinet of my desk.  Don’t want to think about it.  Lalala

I’ve been trying to use up what’s in my kitchen cabinets, but look what I have left….

Spice Cabinet

At least I know it won’t go to waste when I move.  My boyfriend will have more food in his house than he’s had in YEARS.  He’s excited about weeknight, home cooked dinners at home instead of his usual takeout.  I’m excited to cook for him and actually have company when I eat.  This will definitely get me to try new recipes.  While I don’t really care much about my own dinners (other than that they are mostly healthy), I wouldn’t want him to eat the same thing 4-5 nights in a row.  I have a plan in place for our weeknight dinners.  I just have to see how it’ll all work out with my commute.  I think that my crockpot will become my new best friend. 😉

Well, I guess I should get to those boxes now.  I have so much cleaning to do, as well.  Besides all of that, I have two interviews this week and I need to go through my closet to figure out what I’m wearing.  I think I’ll most likely have to go with skirts since my knee is still swollen and looks absolutely ridiculous in pants.  If only I could wear my lululemon pants all week.  Ah, a girl can dream, can’t she?

I’ll leave you with some pictures of my sister’s new puppy, Oliver.

Meet Oliver!

My mom and I went to puppysit him yesterday while my sister and her boyfriend were at work.  Oliver is precious.  I would have stolen him, but I love my sister too much for that.

My boyfriend jokes with me because he knows how much I eventually want a puppy.  Whenever I show him a picture of an adorable puppy he loves telling me that it’s ugly. Haha.  So, I decided I just had to tease him with this picture yesterday:

I love that Oliver cooperated by looking directly at the camera. 😉

I sentthe picture as a picture message to my boyfriend and titled it “LOL”.  His response was “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”.  Hahaha. 😉

Ok, enough procrastinating…..for now, anyway.  Enjoy the remainder of your Sunday.  I hope that you have tomorrow off for Presidents’ Day, like I do.
