A Date Night Send Off with Harry

Hi Friends!

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend as much as I am, so far.  The weather is beautiful, but still extremely hot.  Yes, even for me….the girl who is ALWAYS cold.  I’m currently sitting in my fully air-conditioned kitchen looking out at the water.  I’ve always been drawn to water.  It gives me a sense of peace.  I’m glad that Rob feels the same way.

Rob had to leave early this morning for a business meeting out in Colorado.  I already miss my man. 😦  I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this before, but I have the hardest time sleeping when he isn’t here.  I sleep on his side of the bed when he’s away.  Maybe I think it makes me a lil closer to him?  No clue, but that’s the routine.  Anyway, my sleeplessness started early and it was hard for me to fall asleep last night.  Just knowing that he was leaving today made me anxious.

He knows how I am and treated me to date night last night.  We grabbed a quick dinner at Panera Bread so that we could catch the 8 PM showing of Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: Part II.

My date night with Rob was the perfect way to end the work week and a nice way to send him off for his business trip.  I know I say this a lot, but he really is the best.  I don’t know what I would do without him.  Do you know he watched all prior Harry Potter movies just so he could be up to speed and watch the last two with me?  Yep, he sure did.  I love that man!

Rob’s alarm went off bright and early this morning.  He gave me extra cuddles to make up for the time he’ll be away and then got up to get ready.  Of course, you know I couldn’t go back to sleep.  I kept him company as he packed and got ready.  Then, he was off. 😦

My sister decided to call at 7:30 AM.  Not sure what made her think I would be up, but luckily I was.  We chatted for a bit and then it was time for each of us to get on with our days.  She and her fiance have appointments today to look at different venues for their wedding, scheduled for next summer.  I wanted to get my booty to the gym, since I finally had more energy than I had all week.

Let’s just say, I owned my workout! Woot woot!  Lifting makes me feel so empowered.  I also got in a 30 minute cardio session.  By the end of my workout I was a sweaty mess.  I showed those boys whose boss though. 😉

Speaking of which, I was listening to the radio the other morning and they were having a discussion about girls that wear a “bitch face” at the gym.  I think I’m one of those girls. LOL.  I just don’t want anyone approaching me.  I’m there to do one thing and one thing only – WORK OUT!  I turn my iPod up and put my blinders on.  Once you make eye contact it could be all over.  I feel like I wear a stone face, maybe not “bitch face”.

I bounded out the gym doors, into the extreme heat, and decided I was going to treat myself to an Iced Americano from the Bucks.

Not Looking So Good

Ahhhh….Perfection!

Looks Like I'd Bite You If You Touched My Drink 😉

It was just what I needed!

Re-Energized!

My thirst and energy were quenched, but I needed to refuel.  My belly started grumbling during my workout and wasn’t happy with me.  I decided only a shake would do and I was going to use some of that Iced Americano to make it special.

The Players

Be back later to show you the end result and tell you how I was deemed “The Shake Queen”.  Now, I’m making a dash to CT to surprise my mom.  I hope she doesn’t read this before I get there. 😉

Before I go, here are some questions for ya:

Do you wear a “bitch/stone face” while at the gym?  If so, what’s your reason for it?

What are some of your favorite date night activities? What has been your absolute favorite date night experience?

Enjoy your Saturday!

Kim
